Parents of older children: When did you come to terms with your kids having sex?

My oldest is 17 and came to me to tell me she has been having sex and wants birth control. I have to help her get it of course. If I tell her no, she might end up pregnant. She knows about safe sex and only has one partner. But still it's driving me crazy, I can't believe it's happening. What was your experience?

i'm sorry, i'm not a parent, but i just wanted to say thank you for being such a good mom to her. i know a lot of parents who would have stamped their foot down and said absolutely not. but, you obviously know that this isn't the right thing to do, and that you need to help and protect your daughter when she needs you to, and in this case, that means getting her on the pill. yay for informed, un-biased moms! :]
